Why I'm Running

Meet Candidate

Getting to know me.

Hello, my name is Matthew Favro!

Growing up on the West Coast, National Parks have been something extremely important to me.  Visiting these parks have given me huge respect for the nature that we have here in the West, and I believe it is something that makes us unique.

I studied in college to become an electrical engineer, which is far from what I am doing here today.  I graduate in 2011 and the job market wasn’t exactly the best at that time.  I did get a job as a network planner for AT&T under the technical development program.  Because of that program I was later moved to a network design position, and I have been in charge of cell site design for the PNW and other markets.  I have been awarded multiple times because of my ability to think outside the box and come up with unique solutions.  I work tirelessly when there is a process improvement which has significantly reduced time to complete various tasks.

I have lived in Sandy for 3 years with my family.  I am a father of four and loving husband.  We love going into the Sandy River when we get the hot summer day and visiting the various lakes up in Mt Hood.  We have an abundance of options for exploration.  We all love to adventure into the woods and forage for berries to make jams at home.  I am excited to see them grow up here and how they are growing to love the same things my wife and I do.

Right now, I am mostly worried about that future my children will face.  The uncertainty that is being created by AI, the ever-climbing housing costs, expensive education and healthcare, climate change, and inability to retire.  These are the things that scare me the most for the future, I believe things need to change now in order to protect future generations.
